Misfits Market subscription box review

Misfits Market subscription box review

Misfit market is a subscription box of “ugly” fruits and veggies delivered to your door for up to 40% off grocery store prices. These are misshaped scratch and dent type items, but always fresh. There are 2 box sizes and you choose a delivery frequency of either every week or every 2 weeks. I ordered the smaller box (The Mischief) every 2 weeks for now. You can see Sullivan checking out our first box above.

Below is the box opened so you can see how it came packaged. It seems kinda of thrown together but actually the box is lined well. I don’t mind everything together. I was glad there wasn’t too much plastic waste. The clam shell and brown paper went into my compost.

And here is the spread laid out. Part of the fun IMO is not knowing exactly what you are receiving. It is seasonal and variable. I love vegetables and am excited to get to try some new ones (the squash on the far left!). I feel like this is going to challenge me to come up with ways to use everything. And it’s not an overwhelming amount of each item – there are kind of a lot of carrots and 3 onions (I’m not a huge onion person), but I’ll come up with something to put them in.

Overall, I am very pleased with our first box. The apples (3) are dented but the one we ate tasted great. It just seems more like homegrown produce versus store bought, which I love. I will keep the subscription for now and see what we get in 2 weeks!
