Shower-on SPF

Shower-on SPF

This is one of those, I wish I would have invented this- type products. Also known as a million dollar idea (at least in my opinion).

The brand is Klenskin and they make a shampoo, face, and body wash infused with SPF 30 protection. Here is the exact excerpt from their website:

“Imagine showering with a single cleanser that covers your skin with a layer of sunscreen. Introducing KLĒNSKIN® – a Shampoo, Face, and Body Wash infused with SPF 30 protection. Our Broad Spectrum SPF utilized our revolutionary QuantaSphere® Technology that encapsulates all the active ingredients. KLĒNSKIN® is enhanced with conditioners and antioxidants, which leaves your hair and skin soft and smooth. Now your sunscreen is simply applied to the scalp, face, and body, without extra steps and the greasy residue of lotions and creams. KLĒNSKIN® is the first and only clinically proven, safety-tested, Shower-on® Sunscreen that helps guards against UVA and UVB radiation and is Water Resistant for 80 Minutes. KLĒNSKIN’s unique formulation provides practical, everyday sunscreen protection. Make KLĒNSKIN® part of your daily shower routine.”

Little known fact: I am a little but obsessed with sun protection. I will slather on the sunscreen and carry an umbrella on sunny days. My husband thinks I’m a little crazy. However, I am mostly excited about this product for him and for Sullivan. He hates greasy sunscreen and this seems like the answer! I bought the unscented version hoping Jared will use it, and the kids version for Sully. The kids one smells like strawberries and it is so yummy! I couldn’t stop smelling his head and Jared commented on how good he smelled. I would totally use it on myself too.

I was reading on the website that if a child bathes at night, for example, then the next morning before going out into the sun simply rewash the parts that are exposed (arms, legs, face, ect). Genius! I can see myself begging Jared, “just wash your arms before we go out please, it’s simple and non-greasy”.

I look forward to the day when this technology is widely available across multiple brands, but until then an 8oz bottle will set you back $28. This is obviously a lot more than I would pay for a normal body wash but this isn’t a normal body wash. It seems worth it to me to buy a couple bottles every summer. I actually signed up for their emails and caught a sale they were having. I recommend doing the same.
