Mermaid Kawaii Cuddler
My latest completed project is this Mermaid Kawaii cuddler.
The pattern can be found for free from 3amgracedesigns. The site itself is a wealth of free patterns. I am a huge fan of theirs. The mermaid in particular can be found here, but don’t miss out on seeing all that they have to offer.
Obviously, mine looks different than the original. I couldn’t be bothered to do the outline stitch in the corresponding section color. That would involve too many color changes, so I went for a bold outline. The other glaringly obvious difference is the lips of course. In my mind it was a really cute idea to do big kissy lips, but I’m kind of undecided about it. The more I look at it the more I am liking it.
I found the lips pattern here. I used the kiss lips version. Overall, the lips turned out cute. It worked up quickly and I think it looks like what it is meant to look like. I will be holding onto the pattern and seeing what other projects I come across to use it on. She was a birthday gift for a 2 year old (luckily not a super tough critic). What are your thoughts on the big lips and overall? Suggestions?

I think she’s ADORABLE!!! You could make her hair all kinds of fun wild colors too if you wanted!!
Thank you! Yes! I almost went red, too easy/obvious. I was thinking of different tail/bra color combos too.
