Hooray Heroes

Hooray Heroes

For Father’s day this year I personalized a children’s book for my husband through Hooray Heroes. It is a special Daddy edition called, When Sullivan Grows Up. It turned out so cute! He seemed to really like it.

The personalization involved entering my husband’s name and our son’s name, altering cartoon characters to resemble the two of them, and choosing 10 story pages out of 27 available options. There is also a dedication page to write something sappy for dad.

The story is dad rocking son/daughter to sleep and contemplating what he/she might be when he/she grows up. The 27 different options include things like: professor, firefighter, doctor, rock star, painter, and skier. I avoided the 2 unrealistic ones: superhero and Santa’s helper. They are cute ideas but I wanted to avoid unrealistic expectations.

The cost is $39.00 with free shipping (search online for current coupon codes). I was impressed with the size and quality of the book. It is a large book which really puts the artwork on display. The characters are very cutsie and the artwork is very colorful. The stories are super cute too. They rhyme, which I think is especially great for kids, and each page has a good amount of words. The last page I chose is basketball star, and the story is vertical so you have to flip the book to read it. I thought this was a fun touch. It exaggerates jumping and dunking the ball.

Overall, I would absolutely recommend this company and I will likely use them again.

Coming this fall: personalized book for kids and pets! I’m thinking of Sullivan and Nova, they are best buds! Let’s just hope they have a bull terrier character.
