Adventure Time themed Birthday party

Adventure Time themed Birthday party

My son turned 4 years old. I can’t believe it! My first born baby😳. He requested an Adventure time cake and we did our best to make it happen.

Strawberry cake, strawberries in the middle, blue and green frosting, cotton candy on top, and Adventure Time characters from Ebay

He helped make the cake and he loved it! A little sweet for Dad and I, but perfect for a 4 year old.

As one of his gifts I crocheted a little Finn and Jake, which he also loved.

I am pretty proud of how they turned out. Patterns are free from spinayarncrochet.com. Specifically here for Finn and here for Jake. And if you’re a true fan you may also need to make lumpy space princess here. I’m almost done with mine.

Lastly, we took the birthday boy to Build-a-Bear to get the pay-your-age birthday bear. There were 2 bear options to chose from (light brown fur like the one he picked or a darker brown fur) and we really only paid $4 for it. Now, they try to get you to buy all the extra stuff so you have to be prepared for that. We walked away with the bear dressed in a shirt and shorts for $17 total. No sound. No scent. They do give you a special birthday heart to put inside instead of the standard red one. It was a very sweet experience that I hope he remembers. I think 4 is a good age to do it and I plan on bringing his sister when she turns 4.

Meet Barney the birthday bear

Fine print: you can come in any day during the month of your birthday. The bear is normally $14.
