Knightdale Public Safety Day

The city of Knightdale, where we call home, hosted a Public Safety Day this past weekend. It was a great free event for the community, specifically geared towards kids and fire/emergency safety education.

They had free food and drinks (hot dogs, chips, soda, water, fruit snacks). There were bounce houses, hula hoops, and a puppet show for the kids. Sullivan walked away with a coloring book, crayons, balloon, plastic fire fighters hat, stickers, and magnets. There were 3 firetrucks to explore, 2 ambulances, several other big trucks, and (my favorite) a K9 unit. Jared and I took turns trying the drunk goggles on, and Jared rode the seat belt convincer – simulates a 5 mph collision that really jars you and illustrates the importance of your seat belt.

We had a great time. We love a good community gathering. We will certainly go again next year. See our sweet photo op below:
